The Colon Cancer Group of the 5C Coalition promotes colon cancer awareness via a variety of means including the preparation of educational materials, organizing special awareness events, and more.

Get Your Colon Rollin' 5K Run/Walk

The 5C will again sponsor the Get Your Colon Rollin' 5K Run/Walk to promote colon cancer awareness. This year the event is September 10th. Learn more about this event and Sign Up for the race by visiting the Events page of this website.

    • Fecal Occult Blood Test campaign 1200 slides distributed
    • 20 Free screening colonoscopies at Battle Creek Endoscopy and Surgery Center (Pre cancerous polyps found in 4 individuals)
    • 15 Free Sigmoidoscopies at Colon and Rectal Surgery Center
    • Employee Education at major employers
    • Table displays at BCHS, Burnham Brook, Oaklawn
    • Feature article Battle Creek Enquirer
